Our story
The origin of our name lies in the Greek word kólla (κόλλα), meaning "glue", from which the word collagen is derived. At Kolathera, we honor this etymology by developing therapies designed to restore the integrity of the body's natural structural "cement" wherever disease has weakened it. This vision reflects our commitment to addressing the root causes of tissue fragility and improving the lives of patients affected by collagen-related disorders.
Kolathera founded in 2026 by scientists and clinicians who have dedicated their careers to understanding why bones break and how to stop it. Motivated by the profound unmet need in osteogenesis imperfecta and informed by decades of academic research in bone matrix biology, we set out to build a company capable of delivering the first true disease-modifying therapy for OI patients.
